Many of us are aware of the need of sunscreen for our skin's health and appearance. Wearing sunscreen every day should be a part of your skin care regimen, and if you don't, you're exposing your sensitive facial skin to unnecessary sun damage. If you want to maintain your skin looking beautiful and healthy in the long run, you must use sunscreen every day. Even if your moisturizer does contain SPF, you should still use sunscreen.

Here are five reasons why you should use sunscreen daily:

1. Reduce Your Risk Of Skin Cancer

The most important reason to apply sunscreen is that it helps to keep you from developing skin cancer. Even if it's cloudy or rainy, wearing SPF every day can help protect your skin from cancer-causing radiation. Melanoma is the most dangerous kind of skin cancer, therefore it's extremely vital to protect your skin from harmful sun radiations.

2. Reduce the Signs of Aging

We all want our skin to look young, vibrant, and healthy. Overexposure to the sun, on the other hand, can increase the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and premature aging or skin aging.

3. Protects from Sunburn

Sunspots and skin damage may appear as a result of repeated sun exposure without protection. Sunburn can also raise your chances of getting skin cancer. Sunburns might take a few days or longer to cure, so it's important to use sunscreen every day, even on gloomy days.

4. Reduces the Risk of Hyperpigmentation

Uneven skin pigmentation, also known as hyperpigmentation, occurs when areas of the skin discolour or darken in an uneven manner. This can be inherited, but it can also be brought on by excessive sun exposure. On the face, hands, and other areas of the body that are often exposed to the sun.

5. Protect all Skin Types and Tones

Applying sunscreen to your face might help you maintain a more even complexion. Uneven skin tones can be caused by a variety of factors, including UV damage, which can be prevented by using a daily sunscreen.

How To Get The Most Out Of A Sunscreen?

  • Always use a sunscreen with SPF 30 and above.
  • Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects against the UVA and UVB rays.
  • Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going out in the sun and reapply at least every two hours.
  • Chemical sunscreens should be applied directly to clean skin, while physical blockers should be used last in your skin care routine, but before makeup.
  • It's also a good idea to mix it with a topical vitamin C serum, which may help fight free radicals and UV radiation while also slowing the symptoms of ageing and brightening your skin.
  • When going outside, don't simply rely on your sunscreen; seek shades and hats.

Love your skin, the sun doesn’t.

    1. Yes, I would say you should use sunscreen every day in your skin care routine. The UVA rays can pass through glass windows and are very harmful for our skin.
